MUCC has distinguished themselves as among the brightest stars in JROCK world. Hailing from Ibaraki, this four-piece band formed in 1997 when Miya (guitar) teamed with SATOchi (drums) and fellow high school student Tatsuro (vocals). They rounded out their lineup with the addition of YUKKE (bass) in 1999.
Their signature sound, a distinctive blend of emotional vocals blending with heavy rock melodies, steadily attracted growing legions of fans to their live shows. In the years since their debut, the heartfelt messages behind their lyrics, which urge listeners to find the "hope which exists in despair" and "warmth in sorrow and lonliness" have continued to resonate with fans and bolster their popularity around the world.
Though MUCC began as a Visual Kei band, they have since transcended that genre, choosing instead to focus on their musicality and rocking out the music scene.
