Suzaku - White Knight
As the son of Japan’s last prime minister, Suzaku Kururugi has a history that would suggest his allegiance to the Japanese people. As the childhood friend of Lelouch Lamperouge, he has a history of tolerance and understanding. However, neither of these paths of complacency had suited him. Instead, Suzaku could not stand the idea that a fight to the end was a better fate than surrendering to a foreign power and thus took the life of his father Genbu Kururugi. This served as the violent slingshot that placed Suzaku on one of the most intriguing paths throughout all of the Code Geass anime.
Perhaps you wish to cloak your hand in the honored gauntlet of one of the Knights of the Round. Or perhaps you wish to experience a duality of character that is unlike any other across all of anime. Whatever the reason, the impenetrable resolve of the greatest Knightmare pilot will be yours when you take on these 15 steps of becoming Suzaku Kururugi!
1) Never become self-righteous or rest on your laurels. Starting at the rank of Private and then Warrant Officer, Suzaku Kururugi became the Knight of Seven and ultimately held the newly created rank of Knight of Zero.
2) Always work to fulfill your loftiest goals. Suzaku Kururugi fought in the Knights of the Round so that he would eventually become the Knight of One, which would allow him to rule over all of Area 11.
3) Be comfortable in your personal strength. While powerful enough to lift both Lelouch and Shirley with a single arm, he never allowed it to get to him to the point where he took unnecessary risks.
4) Improve your hand eye coordination. Though there isn’t a single episode of the Code Geass anime that alludes to an actual superhuman power of Suzaku’s, he is a phenomenal pilot.
5) Practice your reflexes. Whenever Suzaku squared off with him, quick thinking reflexes were the key to unraveling Lelouch’s strategies.
6) Be flexible in the situations that you find yourself in. Suzaku’s lack of regular tactics were another way in which he defeated Lelouch by confusing him.
7) All of the Knights of the Round in Code Geass wore white dress uniforms, including Suzaku. These could be replicated with a white suit in real life, preferably with a dark undershirt.
8) Black gloves and a piece of gold-colored chain worn on the front of the uniform were also common among the appearances that Suzaku made as a representative of the military forces of the Britannian Empire.
9) As an individual who’s personality seems split among multiple allegiances, Suzaku Kururugi is not easy to figure out. Code Geass character goods can go a long way into helping you get into his complex mind.
10) For the Code Geass fan who wants to explore the dark and edgy side of Suzaku’s character, a leather jacket, dark shirt, and black pants can replicate the way he appeared as an Honorary Britannian solider early on in the anime.
11) Do not act out of vengeance. When Suzaku Kururugi had the ability to avenge the death of Princess Euphemia, he was able to control himself.
12) Never be afraid to reconsider your previous convictions. While he sought to slay Zero, the last episodes of the anime show Suzaku Kururugi in his service.
13) Always be respectful of your own life. Suzaku was always under the order to live, and could not countermand it because it came from Lelouch’s Geass.
14) Use the will to live to encourage your own growth. There were multiple occasions where this very same Geass commandment was used to make Suzaku Kururugi fight on a different level than his adversaries.
15) Watch the Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion anime, and be sure to surround yourself with as much Code Geass memorabilia as possible. Wall scrolls, keychains, and wallets will be a constant reminder of your new allegiance to the will of Suzaku Kururugi.
