15 Great Steps to Join the Ranks of the Saint Rudolph Tennis Team

Saint Rudolph Gakuin is a fairly new school, since it was established only five years ago. The student body isn't too large, and it's a private school with a dormitory for students on campus.

As it's name suggests, St. Rudolph is an elite religious academy that offers students an alternative to public education. Tennis players at the school are assigned to a special type of reinforcement class that emphasizes their training regimen.

These students are almost completely fixated on tennis, and that means they take things even more seriously than some of the other regular schools.

Cosplaying as a St. Rudolph student will certainly take a little more finesse than cosplaying as a run of the mill Seigaku grunt.

1) Their uniform certainly looks sportier than the ones worn by some other schools. For instance, they seem to issue a pair of dark brown athletic pants that are easy to move around in. They're great for training.

2) Like many of the other schools in the Prince of Tennis, St. Rudolph issues a combination of a plain polo and a windbreaker. Since they usually issue pretty straightforward white tennis shirts, finding a matching polo shouldn't be too difficult at all.

3) The windbreaker might be a little more difficult, since it has a two-toned pattern. Sewing various types of athletic material isn't easy, but a quick search online might help you to discover a similar type of garment quickly enough.

4) Speaking of sewing, artistically inclined cosplayers might want to try their hand at embroidering a regular shirt with the school crest. Cosplaying in school classroom uniforms has recently become somewhat popular.

5) They pair these with brown pleated pants that actually somewhat match the tennis uniform. Male students seem to wear a belt with their pants, but it's not clear whether this is actually a requirement or not.

6) Learning to tie a tie might be helpful, since the school issues red ones to male students. That being said, a majority of real-world schools actually issue clip on ties so you may not even have to worry about this step.

7) Those who want to try cosplaying as Yoshiro Akazawa should probably invest in a wig. Even though his hair is brown, it can be rather hard to make actual human hair do what his hair does.

8) Fuji Yuta is probably the individual most people will most want to cosplay from the school. He's Syusuke's younger brother, but if you're cosplaying with another Fuji you probably won't want to act too chummy in character. He doesn't like to be compared to his brother.

9) A makeup pencil is a great tool to use if you were trying to actually emulate the scar that he has underneath his eye. Two simple lines should probably be more than enough to make it look realistic.

10) Though people refer to him as the Southpaw Killer, Fuji Yuta uses a left-handed aggressive baseliner style of play. If it isn't too much of a problem for you, you might want to try handling some daily tasks with your left hand. If you're left-handed, you've already got this part down!

11) If you're not too disturbed by the idea of cutting you're hair, you might want to try out a closely cropped hairdo. His hair almost looks like a sort of brush.

12) Those who don't mind spending a little money can actually wear the same shoes that Fuji Yuta wears. He appears to prefer Asics, according to the creator of the series.

13) Kaneda Ichiro might be a good pick for some people who want to experience a really dramatic cosplay. He has had to build up a good deal of courage over the years since he respects Akazawa and never wanted to stand up to him. You could incorporate some of this experience into your cosplay if you were doing a scene.

14) Interestingly enough, he is often spotted in his white training outfit even when he doesn't actually need to be wearing it. Whether this is a sign of devotion or merely obsession is perhaps up to you as the cosplayer. You could have a lot of fun with it, or have fun designing an alternate costume for him too.
