He is a phenomenon, having arisen with talent far beyond his years. His duty rules every aspect of a life that is dedicated to maintaining the balance of the very fiber of the universe. He is a man who would challenge the cosmos in his obligation to fight Hollows and risk a fate worse than death without question. With his Zanpakuto, Hyorinmaru, and the cry of ‘sit upon the frosted heavens,’ he can control the element of ice as if it required almost no effort at all. He is Captain Toshiro Hitsugaya of the 10th Division.
Being an individual with the illustrious career of a Shinigami, Toshiro Hitsugaya has of course attracted many fans. Likewise, there are many who would very much want to be like him. Until now, however, there has been no instruction manual on how to become this famous soul reaper. Here, in only fifteen easy to follow steps, you too can become like Captain Hitsugaya!
1) Remain focused. Captain Hitsugaya is a warrior with a sharp mind. He is not the sort to allow himself to be distracted.
2) Speak formally. Toshiro does not appreciate being called Toshiro. He much prefers Captain Hitsugaya. He would not use in formalities when speaking.
3) Hone your intuition. Hitsugaya was the first to point out that Gin Ichimaru was up to something, before anyone else realized it. He is of a strong intellect, and anyone trying to emulate should try and repeat that.
4) Watch the BLEACH anime series often. No one can come to learn about how one should act like Toshiro Hitsugaya without being able to see him in action.
5) Wear a kimono. Hitsugaya wears the appropriate Soul Society Captain’s uniform.
6) Respect your friends. Toshiro Hitsugaya feels quite protective towards individuals like Momo Hinamori and his assistant Rangiku Matsumoto. He would never let them down.
7) Read the BLEACH manga often. Long before his animated appearances, Hitsugaya was defending the Soul Society from the pages of Tite Kubo’s manga.
8) Love the winter. Hitsugaya’s powers stem from the element of ice. He has a great understanding of the winter.
9) Act beyond your years. He is quite young, in Soul Reaper terms, and therefore Hitsugaya is seen as a sort of child prodigy.
10) Show emotionless expressions. Hitsugaya is not a frivolous man, and he often bares a cold scowl. This matches well with his connection to the cold and to ice.
11) Always plan ahead. Toshiro Hitsugaya was able to handle the Arrancar battle in Karakura Town because he was ready for it.
12) Work hard. It may sound cliché, but Hitsugaya did not pass through the Soul Reaper academy by slacking off.
13) Focus one’s anger. Hitsugaya has a short-temper, but he also knows how to use it. He makes sure that his anger is put towards something constructive, even if it doesn’t always seem like it.
14) Stand your ground. Even in the face of great adversity, Hitsugaya would never give up and would never lay down his arms.
