In the beginning of my anime journey, I really got into the music of the series I was watching. I would hunt for the song on the internet (more like I asked my friend to hunt down the song for me) to download it on my IPOD. The first anime song I ever put on my IPOD was Fukaimori Performed by Do As Infinity in Inuyasha and the second one was Wild Rock performed BUZZLIP in Saiyuki (I really love those 2 songs) but then that “need” to have a particular song on my IPOD decreased. I think one reason was that I started to get really engrossed into the storyline and characters . I would either fast forward or skip over the beginning & ending songs just to get to the next episode (when a series is really good I get impatient and can’t wait to watch what happens next) or it could be that that I just couldn’t connect with the music.
I’ve recently started to listen to both the opening and ending music in anime again and this has caused my interest in anime songs to resurface . For example, I am really enjoying the opening and ending music in Bleach (obviously), Ouran High School Host Club (ending theme song), and Gun Sword** just to name a few.
It then got me thinking, “What other head bobbing, booty shaking music have I been missing out on? I don’t know . . . so maybe I should to go back and re-watch my favorite anime shows to hear what I’ve been missing.
If you’ve been a credit skipping watcher, why not slow down a bit to hear the finger snapping anime music you’ve been missing (opening and ending credits) You may just find a song or 2 that you really like.
