Awakened Priscilla
The episode begins with a look at the battlefield from the last episode, which is a bubbling pool of lava. This volcanic ground has now become home for what seems to be the final standoff between Clare and Priscilla. Priscilla internally states that she has never felt as free as she now does as a fully Awakened Being.
While they square off, Priscilla stands like a statue, only raising her sword to deflect Clare’s attacks. On the other hand, each of those attacks comes like that of a wild animal. Clare is fighting with an unbridled wild spirit.
Clare says that she will be the one to kill Priscilla. Priscilla responds by saying that she is no longer afraid of her. Due to Clare’s yoki which is similar to Teresa’s Priscilla is under the assumption that Clare is Teresa. Priscilla later says that she will have her revenge against “Teresa”, continually blaming her for the death of her parents. Isley comments that he remembered when he first found Priscilla, and she was fully Awakened like this.
Clare, and the way that she handles her Yoma power, troubles him. He believes that this shows that the Organization has a few tricks left. He likes this fact, since he believes it’s going to make the battle more entertaining. He’s one of the more sick characters in this anime, isn’t he?
The party of three Claymores that were trying to find Clare has finally caught up, and between them they believe that Clare has again raised her power level. They’re confused about why she previously wanted to die, but now she is utterly obsessed with fighting Priscilla. Miria has been investigating the Organization, and found that Clare is the lowest ranked Claymore. However, she has power that is clearly in excess of all of them.
She’s figured out that while most Claymores are half-human/half-yoma, Clare is not. Instead, she was instilled with the blood of a fellow Claymore. That Claymore was Teresa of the Faint Smile.
While Clare wanted sympathy from this action as a young girl, the Organization actually only attempted it because they wanted to experiment with the results of adding Claymore blood to someone. This is why she wants to kill Priscilla so badly of course; she wants revenge for the life of Teresa.
Meanwhile Raki is traveling with Jean who is seriously injured. He starts to help her, and asks her why she wants to help Clare so badly. Jean explains how Clare saved her life. Raki admits that Clare saved him as well. She assures him that Clare will not become a Yoma.
Priscilla begins calling Clare Teresa, and saying she is weak (she still hasn’t fully come to the realization that Clare is not Teresa). This enrages Clare, and she tosses Priscilla’s sword away with her own. Priscilla tells her that she blames her for everything, and again calls her Teresa. Clare says that she isn’t allowed to even say that name.
Using her horn, Priscilla spears Clare and tosses her down while licking the blood that came out of her body. The spines that come out of Priscilla’s hands trap Clare. Helen enters and cuts out these spikes.
Miria and Deneve arrive and rescue Clare from the lava below. All three observe Priscilla, and she greets them coldly and introduces herself as the number 2.
Clare doesn’t want these three to attack Priscilla. Regardless of Clare’s concern, or perhaps pride, the battle between them ensues and the three Claymores attack Priscilla fully. She seems to think that the Claymore fight on the side of the Yoma, and that as an Awakened One, she is better than a Yoma.
Releasing a great deal of Yoki, Priscilla is able to force the three to the cavern sides. Outside, Raki and Jean arrive. Jean senses the enormous Yoki power released byPriscilla. She picks up Raki in an effort to reach Clare in time. Raki remarks on Jean’s wound reopening. Jean says that her wound has been regenerating this entire time (it hasn’t actually). Jean quickly picks up the pace, hoping to reach Clare before her body gives out.
The three Claymores inside are in for a surprise; they find out that Priscilla wasn’t fully Awakened. Well, that is, she wasn’t fully Awakened until now. She’s reached an entirely new level, and her new body looks even more demonic than before. Isley is amused.
She starts to exchange attacks with the Claymores. One of her new powers seems to be the ability to rain down green bolts, which she is able to score a hit with. She then captures Miria. She says that a true warrior would not rely on one trick like the Phantom Move constantly.
Deneve throws her sword, and though it pierces the finger of the now giant Priscilla, she is able to remove it. The Awakened Priscilla then throws it back down, and hits Helen with it. Deneve turns to help the injured Helen, but she soon finds herself handless because of her efforts. Priscilla is using her finger like a sharp whip, and is soon able to slice Helen’s leg off with it.
Miria, struggling simply to speak, is impressed with the power of a true Awaken Being. The hand she is held in then opens, and she is dropped from a great height. Isley mentions that all good things must come to an end.
Clare is sitting in a corner, and lamenting the fact that she couldn’t help her friends. She feels that she is not living up to Teresa’s legacy. She says that killing Priscilla was her goal in becoming a warrior, and without achieving that goal it was all for nothing. Clare grasps her sword, saying that she will kill Priscilla if she can only get more power.
She starts to release Yoki again, and Clare is growing wing-like projections from her back as Raki and Jean arrive.
