Code Geass Character List Part 1 (In Order of First Line of Dialogue)

Lelouch Lamperouge (Lelouch vi Britannia): The main character, who seems to be nothing more than a simple Britannian student. However, he is really the seventeenth in line for the Britannian throne, though he abandoned this in anger at the death of his mother. He wants nothing more than to destroy the Holy Britannian Empire to make a better world for his sister, Nunnally. He eventually dons the mask and cowl of Zero, a knight of justice, in order to achieve this goal.

Rivalz Cardemonde: One of Lelouch’s friends at Ashford Academy. He often drives Lelouch around on his bike when Lelouch wants to skip school and play chess. He is a very lighthearted and friendly person who harbors an unrequited love for Milly Ashford.

Shirley Fenette: One of Lelouch’s friends at Ashford Academy. She dislikes that Lelouch constantly skips school. She has a big crush on Lelouch that develops over the course of the show.

Milly Ashford: The student body president of Ashford Academy, whose grandfather is the superintendent of the school. She is one of the few people aware of Lelouch’s true heritage and provides him and his sister with a place to stay at the school. She is a fun loving girl who enjoys teasing Shirley about her crush on Lelouch.

Clovis la Britannia: The third prince of the Britannian Empire, who is somewhat of an artist. He is highly narcissistic and despises failure from his subordinates. He and Bartley are involved in the research surrounding C.C.

Kallen Statfeld (Kouzuki Kallen): A half-Britannian, half-Japanese girl who joined Ougi Kaname’s resistance cell because she considered herself Japanese. She is an extremely skilled Knightmare Frame pilot, able to best even the toughest members of the Britannian army. She leads a double life in order to keep her terrorist activities secret.

Diethard Ried: A newsman who despises the puffed up attitudes of the Britannian nobles. When Lelouch makes his appearance as Zero, he becomes infatuated with Zero’s skill and charisma. He eventually renounces his former life and joins Zero in his crusade.

Bartley Asprius: A general of the Britannian military. He works under Clovis in his research on C.C. He is not a terribly competent man.

C.C./C2: The mysterious girl found in the capsule that Ougi Kaname’s terrorist cell stole. She is capable of bestowing upon others the power of the king, otherwise known as Geass. She has been alive for many centuries and has hidden her emotions as a result. However, she seems to be especially invested in Lelouch.

Jeremiah Gottwald: A Britannian noble and member of the Royal Guard. He is a skilled Knightmare Frame pilot. He is extremely passionate about achieving victory and about the supremacy of the Britannians, which tends to get him into trouble when he acts too rashly.

Villetta Nu: A member of the Royal Guard. Like Jeremiah, she believes in the supremacy of Britannia, despite not being a noble herself. Unlike Jeremiah, she is far calmer, and she wants to achieve victory in order to improve her station.

Lloyd Asplund: A Britannian earl and Knightmare Frame researcher. He is known by some as the Earl of Pudding, since pudding is his favorite food. He is a very mocking man who views people as nothing more than tools to further his research.

Cecile Croomy: Lloyd’s assistant. Where Lloyd is sardonic and cruel, she is kind and considerate. In many ways, she is Lloyd’s conscience.

Kururugi Suzaku: Lelouch’s close childhood friend and one of the only people who knows his true identity. His father was the former prime minister of Japan, Kururugi Genbu. He wants to affect change to better the lot of the Japanese by working with the system, rather than against it like the terrorists. He is a highly skilled Knightmare Frame pilot, rivaled only by Kallen.

Ougi Kaname: The leader of the Japanese terrorist group who took over after the death of the previous leader, Kallen’s older brother. He is a former teacher who has very little confidence in his own ability to lead, and he readily steps aside when Zero shows up. He is a very kind person who tends to see the best in people, though he is also highly perceptive.

Charles zi Britannia: The 98th ruler of the Holy Britannian Empire and Lelouch’s father. He is a proponent of Social Darwinism who thinks very little of most human beings. He is one of the few people who knows the truth about the murder of Lelouch and Nunnally’s mother, who was one of his many consorts.

Code Geass Character List Episode 2 (In Order of First Line of Dialogue)

Tamaki Shinichiro: One of the members of Ougi’s resistance cell. He acts very passionately, tending to overact to everything. He is also not a very good Knightmare Frame pilot, as he normally has to eject before ever actually doing anything.

Minami Yoshitaka: One of the members of Ougi’s resistance cell. His most distinguishing feature is that he wears glasses. He, along with the rest of the cell, is initially hesitant to accept Zero’s help.

Code Geass Character List Episode 3 (In Order of First Line of Dialogue)

Nina Einstein: A bookish friend of Lelouch and member of the student council. She is extremely xenophobic towards Japanese, and as such, she has difficulty interacting with Suzaku when he arrives at Ashford Academy. She develops an obsession with Euphemia li Britannia after both are taken hostage by Japanese terrorists.

Shinozaki Sayoko: A Japanese woman who acts as Lelouch and Nunnally’s maid. She helps take care of Nunnally whenever Lelouch is busy. She is actually a skilled martial artist.

Nunnally Lamperouge (Nunnally vi Britannia): Lelouch’s younger sister, who lost her eyesight a result of emotional trauma from when her mother was killed, as well as the use of her legs from bullet wounds. She goes to Ashford Academy’s middle school and is good friends with Lelouch’s friends, the student council members. She is very kind-hearted and naive, as she desires a world full of peace despite the problems that the world faces. Lelouch uses this desire as motivation for his transformation into Zero and the formation of the Black Knight.

Code Geass Character List Episode 4 (In Order of First Line of Dialogue)

Yoshida: One of the members of Ougi’s resistance cell. He, along with the rest of the cell, is initially hesitant to accept Zero’s help. He is later put in charge for the logistical support of the new organization, the Black Knights.

Toudou Kyoushirou: A former member of the Japanese army, who was the only general to defeat the Britannians in an engagement during the invasion of Japan, currently a member of the Japan Liberation Front, the largest anti-Britannian resistance force. He is an extremely skilled swordsman, tactician, and Knightmare Frame pilot. He was also Suzaku’s martial arts instructor when Suzaku was a child.

Kewell Soresi: An officer of the Britannian Army. He is a member of Jeremiah’s pureblood faction. However, when Jeremiah inexplicably lets Suzaku go during Zero’s debut on the world stage, he begins to change his beliefs about the margrave.

Sugiyama Kento: One of the members of Ougi’s resistance cell. He is noted for being a good cook. He, along with the rest of the cell, is initially hesitant to accept Zero’s help.

Code Geass Character List Episode 5 (In Order of First Line of Dialogue)

Andreas Darlton: A well-built Britannian soldier with a scar on his face who serves under Cornelia. He is opposed to the racist policies of the purebloods. He is extremely loyal to Princess Cornelia. Five of his adopted sons serve under Guilford as the Glaston Knights.

Gilbert G.P. Guilford: A bespectacled Knightmare Frame pilot who serves under Cornelia. He and Darlton are her two greatest subordinates. He is even more loyal to Princess Cornelia than Darlton. He commands the Glaston Knights, which are comprised of five of Darlton’s adopted sons.

Cornelia li Britannia: The second princess of Britannia and the Commander-in-Chief of the Britannian Imperial Army. She is an extremely skilled Knightmare Frame pilot who favors a lance in battle. Euphemia is her younger sister by the same mother. She becomes Viceroy of Area 11 after Clovis’ death. She is a decisive commander and leader, though she does have strong sisterly feelings for Euphemia.

Euphemia li Britannia: The third princess of Britannia and Lelouch’s favorite sibling after Nunnally. She is an extremely kind-hearted girl who bears no hate or racist sentiment in her body. She takes an interest in Suzaku after they first meet and eventually appoints him as her personal Knight. She becomes Sub-Viceroy of Area 11 under her sister, Cornelia.

Arthur: A cat that Euphemia befriends in the Tokyo settlement. He is later adopted by the Ashford student council after Suzaku transfers there. One of the show’s running gags is that Arthur keeps biting Suzaku, even though he actually does care for Suzaku.
