Episode 21: Separation of Heaven and Earth and the Creation of a Star

Emiya finally comes to the realization that he’s in love with Saber. The scene next jumps to Saber and Emiya encountering the 8^th Servant who is an Archer. Saber tells Emiya to run while she tries to block the Servant’s attack but Emiya has another plan. He grabs Saber and tells her to run for it. Emiya races towards the Golden Servant and instantly is brought to the ground with his blood spreading all over the ground. This gets Saber going and she transforms into her Servant attire. The 8th Servant then summons all his swords forth by opening the Gate of Babylon. Saber is puzzled that one Servant can command so many weapons. The 8th Servant enlightens Saber by revealing his true identity. He is the single oldest King. He is Gilgamesh the Hero King of ancient Uruk. The worry quickly flashes across Saber’s face but it doesn’t distract her from taking on the Hero King.

The two of them begin to fight. It’s Saber and Excalibur against Archer and Enuma Elish. Unfortunately, Saber is no match. She too, is quickly brought to the ground with her blood oozing out as well. Both she and Emiya are severely injured. Emiya summons enough energy to stand on his own two feet. He performs a trace of Saber’s sword and charges towards the 8th Servant who enlightens Emiya that in his hands is the original King of Swords and in a blink of an eye Emiya is down again with a huge gash running diagonal through his chest.

Saber begs the 8th servant to spare Emiya’s life and she will marry him. Saber probably should have consulted with Emiya. Emiya once again gets up on his feet and tells Saber no matter what, he will always be there for her. He tells her that she is the most precious person in his life thus confessing his love to her (Go Emiya fight for your girl). Emiya summons a trace on while remember the advice of Rin’s Archer about visualizing a weapon strong enough to defeat your opponent. Emiya calls upon a golden looking weapon. Saber rushes over to him and together they grab a hold of her sword and combine it with the weapon Emiya just summoned. Saber, Emiya and the 8th Servant’s powers collide and some how Saber and Emiya are able to temporarily push back the 8th Servant causing him to leave (of his own free will).

They are back at Emiya’s. Emiya has recovered from his wounds. He’s awoken by a dream he had of Saber when she was King Arthur. Saber enters the room and they discuss their ability to defeat the 8th Servant. They realize they must do it in order to win the Holy War. By winning the Holy War Saber can redo the King selection (allowing someone more deserving to lead).

Saber offers to cook Emiya a meal. She gives it all she can (just like when she fights) but she lacks the necessary skills to prepare a meal and ask Emiya to help her with her technique. As Emiya is teaching her a few things about preparing a meal he tells her that she should use the Hold Grail to do what will make her happy by staying with him.

Saber storms off. Emiya quickly catches up with her. He tells her she can’t leave and she says he knows from her dreams of the sins she has committed. She is unworthy to be the King. Emiya grabs hold of her and they kiss.

The next day, Emiya walks to the Kotomine Church while thinking about Saber and her commitment to fight with him as his Servant. Once Emiya arrives at the church he can not find Kotomine but he is struck by a strong sensation and hears a voice telling him to stay away. As he walks around the church he comes across an underground chapel. Inside the chapel he sees rows and rows of dead bodies.

He is shocked but he ismore stunned to hear Kotomine behind him and soon realizes Kotomine is responsible for all the dead bodies. As Emiya turns around to face Kotomine Lancer stabs him in the chest.
