I just completed the first 4 episodes of Nana. The first 2 episode I was becoming familiar with the characters by the 3rd and 4th episodes I was ready to beat Nana (non musician Nana) up. OMG, another one of those whining characters who has the wrong impression about her life and then spends the whole remaining episodes complaining about it.
Why must the English versions be so annoying? It really brought the series to a standstill for me. I think I’d much rather read the Nana manga because so far the anime is making me want to pull my hair out.
It was very, very difficult for me to continue. Luckily, episode 4 wasn’t as bad because it focused on Nana the musician and I gotta say I kind of like her (minus the smoking). So, why do I like this rocking Nana . . . easy her boots. ;-)
Boots have become my latest “thing” particularly mid-calf to knee high boots. Something about boots that go that high and how you look in them just makes me want to have them. Since anime feet have entered my attention, I’ve been noticing a lot more of girls wearing these awesome boots.
I noticed them in Last Quarter which I watched the early part of January (loved her boots) and now in Nana. I have a pair of mid-calf boots myself but I don’t wear them that often. They are so difficult to put on because I wear them under my jeans which means every time I put them on I have roll my jeans past my knees, put my boots on, zip them up (long zipper) then roll the jeans over the boots. It’s time consuming; however, once they are on my feet I’m like a totally different person. Also these boots have 1.5” heel and that requires me to adjust my normal fast steps to a moderate speed (but it’s worth it because I look great in my boots).
After watching Nana I’ve decided on 2 things. #1 get myself another pair of boots with a lower heel #2 start wearing more skirts to show off my fabulous boots (I’ve noticed too that most of the time the anime girls are wearing skirts which I image makes wearing boots a heck of a lot easier to take off and put on)
I found a pair of really awesome Harley Davidson boots I want to purchase. I’m going to have to start saving for them now since they are over $140.00 at the moment. 
While I’m waiting for those boots to become mine I’ll continue to enjoy the footwear shown in anime and I’ll slowly make my way through the Nana anime series.
