Fate Stay Night Disc 1 Advent of the Magi : Episode 1
This Fate Stay Night episode begins with a battle scene between 2 servants in Fuyuki City. It’s an intense fiery battle the leads to the whole area bursting into a flame of fire. 10 years later it is once again time for the 7 servants and their masters to take part in the Holy Grail War. The winner of this war will obtain the Holy Grail.
The 1st master that we meet summoning her servant is Rin Tohsaka. Her servant is the Archer. Next we are introduced to Shirou Emiya. When he was little he was the sole survivor of a horrible blazing fire. He was rescued by Kiritsugu Emiya who ultimately adopted Emiya as his son. It has been 5 years since Kiritsugu Emiya has died and Shirou Emiya leaves alone in the estate. But he isn’t totally alone. There is Sakura. She visits Emiya daily and even prepares his breakfast and dinners. And then there is Taigia Fujimura, long time family friend, who also watches over Emiya (she also comes over to enjoy the meals Sakura prepares for Emiya).
Emiya’s purpose in life is to be a champion of justice. In other words he wants to save innocent people. His father was a Magus (magic user of the mystic arts) and Emiya also wanted to be a Magus to help him fulfill his life goal of saving people (like his father saved him). Emiya has a small ability of magic but not enough to be classified as a Magus (he is also lacking the Magus seal). Emiya works hard to increase his skills and does so in private as was instructed by his father (magic should be used to help another but you should never perform it in front of others).
There have been a lot of strange gas leaks and robberies/murders around Fuyuki City. It was highly advised that students leave school by 6 p.m. and for people to stay off the streets at night. While walking home from work Emiya meets a strange young girl. She giggles and tells him he needs to hurry up and summon someone or he will die. He doesn’t understand what this means (I didn’t either).
It is also during this episode that Rin and Archer take a tour of the city to get a better understanding of the city and its’ lay out.
