Hentai in Anime: For Mature Audiences Only

Anime has been around for a long time as you might have figured out, and suffice to say it is a beautiful type of entertainment. Why is it beautiful? Anime can tell stories that simply cannot be told in a live action show, and that truly makes it fun to watch, even though some people simply don’t ‘get it’. Despite all that, there are different types of anime out there which range from child appropriate to adult anime. There are even some anime series that have managed to evolve from a children’s series to an adult show to keep up

with its audience as it aged. One example would be the Mobile Suit Gundam series that went from a children’s series to a full blown adult series since its start in the mid seventies. It’s most recent iteration was Gundam 00 which had a very adult storyline.

We know there are adult and child appropriate anime, but there is definitely something else beyond adult anime. It is called Hentai. What is it exactly? Well if you have ever watched pornographic material, then you could think of it as that, but sometimes much graphic.

In Japan it was made illegal to show genitals on camera for the longest time, so it was necessary to invent a new type of pornography. Because these were just cartoon characters people did not consider them to be real, and therefore just about anything could be done to them. What does this mean exactly? It means that…well it means what you think – anything can be done in a hentai. In hentai you may see anything from normal sex to rape. Just about anything goes in these animated shows which run for about twenty one to twenty five minutes.

If you are a mature adult and this is your thing – hentai maybe for you. If you are a parent, then you want to make sure you know what your children are watching. With the major influx of Japanese anime it can be difficult to tell whether or not your child is watching Naruto or some hentai film. For this reason you need to ensure that you are familiar with the different types of anime. So long as you educate yourself you can’t take the excuse from your kids: “But Moooooom! It’s just hentai! It’s a cartoon!” Don’t let that excuse fly. Educate yourself because the best defense is a good offense .

There you have it. Hentai is hentai. To watch it or not it (if you are age appropriate) is based in accordance to your personal tastes because everyone is allowed to have their own pleasures in life. However, if you are a parent this means you’ll need to be active in your child life to ensure that the anime they are watching is appropriate for their eyes, ears, and brain.
