Bakemonogatari’s Black Hanekawa Figure is Out for a Prowl

This Black Hanekawa anime figure from Bakemonogatari is perfect for those that feel that a bakeneko isn’t too threatening of a figure to have in one’s home. Then again, many fans probably like the sense of danger that comes with having a supernatural creature around. Bakemonogatari, or Ghost Story, originally came from a series of popular light novels in Japan. Nisio Isin chilled fans to the bone with the text, while the illustrations actually came from a Taiwanese artist by the name of Vofan.

These were adapted into an anime by Shaft, though Alter brought this particular figure to the world. Koyomi Araragi survived a vampire attack and was suddenly thrown into a world of very dangerous supernatural beings. Naturally, Black Hanekawa happens to one of the most threatening, and here she is featured in over eight inches of potential violence and predatory instinct.

Black Hanekawa silenced a powerful beast in Tsubasa Tiger, but it seems that she isn’t quite as ready to kill here. While some fans might be disappointed by this fact, they certainly can rally around her famous hair. After the Kako arc, her hair becomes white with a bit of a pattern. Naturally, she tried to dye it black, but she is presented as a far more natural individual here. It might be hard to believe that she is a 1/7 scale PVC figurine and not a real predator that’s ready to tear out the hearts of those that cross her.

Then again, she might very well take the hearts of fans in a very different sense. Her golden eyes and animal-like ears are almost more like those of a wolf than a feline. Of course, that doesn’t mean that she doesn’t have a few other cat-like accents to her credit. Black Hanekawa stands on top of a small bit of cobbled brick. This might very well lead collectors to term her an alley cat, and a girl that isn’t good for them. Then again, this is exactly the sort of girl that fans like the most.

Her street-like base has a few paw prints on it that show that she has been out on the prowl for some time. With clothes that are somewhere between a kimono or yukata and a pair of western pajamas with a kamon print, Black Hanekawa might be ready to kill or she might just be ready for bed.

Azusa Nakako K-ON! Figure: A Peaceful Winter Day Hides the Soul of a Rock Star

Everyone follows a few select characters in K-ON!, so there is no better way to show your fandom than to rock out with this Azusa Nakako figurine. She’s the rhythm guitarist for the Sakura High School Music Club, and she might be considered one of the more disarmed and cute characters in the series. After all, she always ends up rather confused and bewildered whenever the Light Music Club decides to cosplay or throw a party. Azusa takes her music seriously, and just wishes everyone could practice. Naturally, she’d rather play her Fender Mustang that she seems to have nicknamed Muttan.

It makes a lot of sense that Azusa is paired with a cat in this sculpture. She ended up with the nickname Azu-nyan, since there was a particular incident where she put on a pair of cat ears and started to purr. Nyan is, of course, Japanese for meow. The scene depicts a peaceful day shown in the anime episode ‘A Winter’s Day’, and it shows her relaxing over a cushion with the Azunyan #2 kitten. She was looking after that particular cat on behalf of Jun. It can easily warm the heart of any Azusa fan, despite how cold that winter day must have been.

Max Factory made this 1/7 scale figure, which is the same company that manufactures a number of other quality anime figurines. She is around 9 1/5 inches, and it seems that even her cute striped shirt seems to keep in line with the feline theme. Azusa come pre-painted and features a stand, but fans might be more interested to know that Max Factory’s own Nakayaman designed the figurine. Of course, the distributor is just as famous. Good Smile Company always seems to do a good job of putting together all of the pieces.

No one really needs help falling in love with this sort of a cute scene, though, and those massive pigtails should be enough to make even the coldest hearted fanboy squeal with delight. Naturally, she seems to be looking towards a non-existent camera. While many anime characters tend to be extremely alluring or distant, Azu-nyan is a cautious and moe girl that just seems to want a home.

While a real combination of a human girl and a feline might require any number of resources, this PVC figurine should be able to live just fine on the collector’s shelf whenever they’re not playing guitar themselves.

Hellsing Seras Victoria Red Cosplay Costume: An Alternate for a Good Cop

This women’s Hellsing Seras Victoria Red costume provides a different uniform for the Draculina. It includes the skirt, top and gloves, but in a slightly different form than the usual design. The uniform has been remade, and features a different color scheme that is still just as alluring as any of the standard ones. Perhaps it is more so, considering that it is something a little more unique.

Naturally, it might be perfect for those who are trying to cosplay as a pair of Seras Victoria clone officers if the two individuals in question wanted to wear a different color. Otherwise, it could be great for those that have the first to have this color as well so that they always have a change of clothes. After all, one cannot fight an underground war against the forces of evil without an alternate uniform. Even the London Metropolitan Police and the Hellsing Organization understands this fact, and surely Seras didn’t always dress the same.

The costume comes in adult women’s sizes extra small, small, medium, large, extra large, 2X and 3X. At the regular price of slightly over $145 it would not have been too expensive, but it is currently being offered at an even greater value of slightly under $106. It might look sparse, though, since it does not come with accessories.

However, there are a few that are easily attained. The Holster Set Wild West model would look great with the uniform, but for those that need serious, but totally inert, firepower, the Brown Parade Rifle is the ideal model. It is 42 inches long, and even comes with an actual moving bolt. Of course, having both of these accessories together with the uniform would make anyone look like a real officer of the D-11 group.

While Seras might not have any living relatives, this costume can certainly bring her to live, and using the Alucard duster design along side of it might bring life to the entire series. Naturally, though it is important to remember where that life comes from. The unholy immortal living dead are not something to be trifled with.
