Talk about an unusual weekend. It had been nearly a year since my father and I sat down to watch Death Note Live Action DVD (I’ve seen it before at the theater and on DVD but this was the first time my father had seen it) and we finally finished it on Saturday.
I was surprised that this time around he stayed awake through the whole thing. His eyes didn’t droop (from sleep) once. He even said he was looking forward to watching part 2 of the live action version. Does this mean he’s crossing over into anime territory?
Nah, but I do think it gives him a better understanding of what I do and what I am into (which is really nice).
Want to know something really weird? For about 30 minutes even my mom joined us in the Death Note festivities. She hates violate movies but seemed to be into this movie for a minute or two. She even commented that no way a person who ate that many sweets would be that thin (referring to L). Oh my gosh, she was actually paying attention.
I wonder what I can tempt my parents into watching next weekend. You know what? I won’t press my luck. I’ll just revel in the unordinary yet nice weekend I had a bit longer.
