Gravitation DVD Review

Hey gang,

I’ve recently finished watching the 4 discs DVD box set of Gravitation. Overall I’d have to say it was a very good series. It did get a bit annoying. The back of forth “Love U, Don’t love U, Love U” of Eiri Yuki towards Shuichi got old fast. Another downside of the series and this applies to most “musical” series is the endless songs and how they manage to replay themselves over and over in your head. I found myself several times throughout the day humming the tunes from Gravitation. It can get a bit annoying especially to those around me (sorry guys).

The series ends okay. I would have preferred to learn more about Yuki. I found him to be a very complex character and one of my favorites. Speaking of favorite characters, I also found Ryuichi Sakuma to be another one to add to that list of favs. Off-stage he’s this very innocent child-like person who’s very funny. But once he is on stage he transforms into this professional singing sensation. I would have liked to known more of his back story.

Gravitation is an easy to watch anime. If you’re looking for a show that will allow your brain to rest (smooth, simple storyline) then this is the anime to pop into your DVD player and watch away.

I’ve heard the manga is different and delves more into Shuichi and Yuki’s relationship. Hmm, I may have to check those out and see which of them (manga or anime) I like better.

Later,
T.A.G.
